Around twenty-five thousand residences in south-east Queensland woke up experiencing outages on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms swept through the region, generating powerful gusts hitting over 100 km/h.
Substantial Ice Stones and Broad Destruction
Homeowners observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair power throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, approximately 1,000 residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
Rescue organizations handled 598 calls for help across the area, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

At the height on the previous day, over 28k electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were predicted to continue along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tomorrow was expected to become the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across various areas of both states.
Safety Concern
Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the existing atmospheric conditions.
