Three Named as Finalists for Young Sports Star Honour
Announced recently
English soccer star Michelle Agyemang, darts player Luke Littler and cricketer Davina Perrin have been shortlisted for the this year's Young Athlete of the Year award.
The three finalists have been recognised for their exceptional achievements over the past 12 months.
Agyemang was instrumental as the Lionesses claim victory in Euro 2025, Littler claimed the world title for the maiden time, and Perrin rose to fame with a historic innings.
Littler was the recipient in 2024 after his breakthrough year.
The three contenders were revealed during a live broadcast on a national radio breakfast show.
The champion will be unveiled on the annual sports awards show on December 18th.
The ceremony will be televised from 19:00 GMT.
The Football Star

Just three months after her international debut, Agyemang played a pivotal and thrilling role in England's run to winning the Euros.
She came off the bench to score vital last-gasp goals in both the last eight and last four matches.
Agyemang's stunning interventions led to her being named the best young player at the Euros.
Later in the year, she was awarded the prestigious Golden Girl honour for the top young European talent.
She was also shortlisted for the Kopa Trophy for the world's best under-21 female player.
Agyemang, who has been playing for Brighton on loan from Arsenal, suffered an ACL injury in October.
"Being nominated for this award is incredible," said Agyemang. "I'm grateful to God and I'm appreciative of the support I've received from my loved ones, mentors, colleagues and supporters."
Littler's Profile

Littler's 2025 began in spectacular fashion as - at just 17 years old - he became the youngest darts world champion in history.
He secured a comprehensive triumph over Michael van Gerwen in the final.
His follow-up triumph at the World Matchplay made him only the fifth individual to complete the prestigious three major tournament wins.
He didn't stop there - his victory at November's Grand Slam of Darts meant he ascended to world number one for the first time.
At 18, he is the most youthful player to do so, shattering the previous record.
"Earning a spot on the shortlist for the honour once more is a big honour," stated Littler. "Last year's win was a special memory for me and I've had another amazing 12 months. I want to continue elevating darts."
The Cricket Sensation

Perrin is one of English cricket's most exciting young talents and rose to fame with an unbelievable and unprecedented innings in August.
Her sublime 42-ball century in The Hundred is the quickest ever by an English female in T20s.
It also stands as the equal third-quickest women's T20 century in a top-tier competition.
Perrin came in second place in the season's run tally and was named the young player of the year by the PCA.
"I'm truly honoured to be shortlisted for the Young Sports Star award," expressed Perrin. "It's a very special feeling. I hope it encourages more girls to get into cricket."
